Welcome to ISD

Welcome to the website of the International School of Dakar in Senegal. ISD is a dynamic and friendly English language preK-12 school located in the Mermoz neighborhood of Dakar.

We are an IB Diploma Candidate School offering a solid North American-based education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. We are very proud of our recent scores on literacy and numeracy assessments and we offer a Core French program where students take French instruction once a day, regardless of their level.

Founded almost 30 years ago, we are a community school of roughly 425 students. We have grown considerably since 1983, with a new Elementary building opening 5 years ago and the inauguration of our brand new Middle and High School building this year.

With staff members and students from over 50 countries, we provide a warm and caring learning environment that challenges students both to achieve excellence and to appreciate their diversity. We are very proud of the welcome that newcomers receive at our school. We think that it reflects the Teranga of Senegal, our host country.

Our CORE values of Creativity, Open-Mindedness, Responsibility, and Excellence are embedded into daily academic lessons and everything that the school does from Arts to Athletics to Activities!
